Six Friends is made from grapes grown exclusively at Burnside.
The site is largely frost free and part of the East Coast dry southern climate area and we take a minimal intervention approach to vineyard management.
Picking is on a single day and a highlight for the regulars who help out.
We produce only 150-200 cases a year and we believe that Pinot is a wine that benefits from some years in the bottle. This means we cellar the wine and only release it very slowly with about 4 years of age. The wines are full flavoured when young but do develop beautifully with time.
From the beginning our wine has been made by Alain Rousseau at Frogmore Creek. It is open fermented, oaked for 9 months and bottled for storage.
